As night falls The memories of your cheeky smiles And the smiles I smiled in return Come slowly to roost On the Artery of my soul And on my sleeping eyes A constant smile lies awake Leading me through dreamland Unto the shining brightness of a new dawn When once again The little fingers of the rising sun Caresses my skin to the reality Of the shadows of your absence And the echoes of your silence

The various notes of early birds Their different tones Makes the melodious music That slowly takes me out of my strange bed I, a stranger in this rocky town Alone and unknown I took a stance on one of the ancient rocks And then clandestinely Wake, one by one, the sleepy inhabitants With the click-click sound of my camera. Good morning Abeokuta. 

Can we please have a moment of silence Can we please have a moment of peace Can we have a moment of sanity Free of this madness  Can we breath in some safe air Free of these fumes Can we have a moment of calmness A moment of peace Not for the ones we lost But for ourselves Can we have a moment of silence  For our loss  For we have lost silence We have lost peace  To the uproar, noise and clamor Of our tired generators.

I could be here in front of you sir, but I am not here At my cubicle in the office but I am not here At home but I am not here On facebook but I am not there At the chess club but I am not there This is me I live here Unfurled here Spawned by the ejaculations of my pen Flaunted in black and white These words are my genes And the verses are my very DNA The lines, my cells This is me I live here I breathe here Somewhere between theses lines.

Don’t you talk to me Like I do not know, I know That the best of poems were never written in ink That the purest of thoughts lies deep I know True smiles comes from the eyes and That happiness do not fly on wings of wish That men are desperate and some evil Don’t you dare talk to me Like I do not know That the heavens is endless and defies science, that The stars therein are not only ornaments, each and all its name and wonders as assigned I know That God made us and then we made our personal demons, everyman his own That chance and time happens and men and women mere witnesses and chroniclers That our destination is of utmost essence just as well as the path Dare you school me!
