The Mouse in my Head
I'm the sinner-saint
The peace-making warrior
The thunder-bearing silence
I often run out of breath chasing the mouse in my head through the corners of my past, to the maze of my now
And then towards the labyrinth of my
future
Sometimes, I smile, I laugh cheerily at my woes
Other times, I sob in the throes of my mirth
Adrift like a leaf on the river, I follow my path
Is it good? Is it bad?
I no longer question the wherefore of my days
I found peace when I stopped chasing the mouse in my head.
I no longer listen to the voices I hear
I have become the voice.
I have become one: I, my path
My journey, and destination.

A brilliant piece 👏
