Weeping Fingers
Weeping Fingers
My eyes they bleed my fingers they weep tears
Suffused, numbed with pain I cry in fear
For me; the hopeless, the helpless, my peers
The children who sleep forgoing dinner
Who shall speak for us who will hear our woes
Who will read when we write our blood stories
We the shoeless live less and die in throes
Of hunger and anger, O we need Moses
Not Jonath, saviour we need not Labour
As our wormed scalp run the streets rallying
We chant the songs they teach, we endeavour
Yet remember the darkness at home looming
And the breakfasts to be sacrificed
On a platter as the subsidy lysed.
