If you knew I was thirsty

To gaze the night sky alone

Glister amidst the stars
Would you hold my hands
If you see my scarred heart
Would you sleep tonight
With not a word to me
If my eyes and ears cannot
Wait till morning light

In the lonely dark of nights

Is it the blood in your veins
Or the heart that moves them
Is it the bones in your fingers
The flesh under your skin
Or the soles of your palms
I may not ever know why
But the touch of your hand

Heaven is what it is

I rose thinking nothing

I heard the larks sing in the trees
They make a sweet song
Using my name and yours
They make a song of love

The birds know our names

And brought tears into my eyes

That oceans lack depth and
Mountains know not heights

They took my head into the clouds

The Old Elephant cries He stomps around in pain His screams raised whirlwinds The ruckus was heard across the land As he trampled on the innocent shrubs                              of the Savanna The Old Elephant is weak Yet he's an elephant, not a sheep He bellows once again, this time louder His children have gone far, scattered wide  And away, b eyond the setting sun Yet they heard the Old Elephant rumble In fear, the little ones tremble The grasses shudder, the trees grumble Again, the  Old Elephant growls His children groan—they pray he rumbles forever
