Sabers of Eraser
We faced each other Brandishing our weapons for destruction We faced each other With assorted prowess and munitions And like practiced fencers Took our stance and danced forth gyrating east from west and not a soul to clap Bloodied now by the unintended shots our sabers made and a soul to cry at last Our sabers of eraser Are done erasing the roads Between our hearts Yours half-way Mine the rest of the way We have done the entire road, erasing The streams and bridges, including Those quiet trees, their shade Where hours passed and left us behind The passing glances and their thoughts Were erased like penciled arts Yet remembered precisely as it was For what it truly was.
